ROCKLAND — Susan “Suz” Willey sadly passed away on Jan. 3, 2023, of unknown causes, after a period of declining health. She was born in Boston, Oct. 26, 1963, but lived most of her life here in the Midcoast until she fell in love with Marco Island, Fla. and traveled between the two places.

She was predeceased by her parents Edith and Robert White; her brother Bob; and her sisters Mary and Judith White. She is survived by her sister Sharon White; her children Star, Rheannon and Christian Willey; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

Suz was well known in the community as a hard worker who worked at many bars and restaurants including Gilbert’s, Cappy’s and Myrtle Street Tavern, to name a few. She also owned a business as a housekeeper. Despite facing many challenges in life, she tenaciously worked to provide for herself and her children. Susan’s megawatt smile would light up a room! She was known to many as a fun shining spirit who loved music, dancing, fishing and the outdoors. She would lend a helping hand to anyone whenever she could, and she tried her best.

A private service is planned for her immediate family. A gathering for Suz’s vast community will be held in the summer when the sun is high in the sky and warms the sand on the beaches where she raised her children. To share pictures and memories you may visit bchfh.com.
