The Camden Public Library 20th annual Camden Winterfest will take place Saturday, Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At 11 a.m. in the Camden Amphitheatre, visitors can watch teams of amateur ice sculptors — and two professionals — transform 300-pound blocks of ice into masterpieces.

There will be food stands offering local fare including hot dogs and hot soup and cocoa. All proceeds from food sales will benefit the Camden Public Library.

At noon, the public is invited to bring their dressed-up dogs to the center of the Amphitheatre for the Doggie Fashion Show. The first 30 dressed-up pups to participate will win a dog-approved prize and ribbon award.

At 12:30 p.m., kids and families can join Camden Public Library children’s librarian Miss Amy for a wintery Story Walk through Harbor Park. Creative winter crafts and face-painting will also be happening inside during the entire event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Polar Plunge will take place at 1 p.m. Participants will run and splash into the frigid Camden Harbor to benefit Sundog Outdoor Expeditions. The top fundraisers who plunge into the harbor will win time in Native Sauna’s mobile sauna, which will be parked nearby.
