Fill the Strand
Due to inclement weather and deteriorating road conditions, AIO’s “Fill The Strand” event on Monday, Jan. 16, has been canceled. Food donations to fill the theatre can be dropped off at AIO on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. We can still collect enough food to “Fill The Strand.” There are 350 seats. Each seat holds one 10-pound bag. If we collect 3,500 pounds of food…we “Fill The Strand!” Every $25 seat sponsorship reduces the food weight goal, and seat sponsorships can be made online at aiofoodpantry.org/strand. Thanks to everyone who supports AIO and The Strand Theatre for supporting this event. While the weather may have thrown us a curveball, we can still hit a home run!

Pen Bay Medical Center/Waldo County General Hospital closures

In addition, the PBMC and WCGH walk-in care and labs will close at 1 p.m. today, as well as the retail pharmacy at PBMC.

The Emergency Department at both hospitals will remain open.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that the storm will end tonight, and they expect to resume normal hours of operation tomorrow, Jan. 17.
