‘Fill the Strand’ fundraiser cancelled, donations still accepted

ROCKLAND — The “Fill the Strand” fundraiser held in cooperation with AIO Food and Energy Assistance has been cancelled due to inclement weather and poor driving conditions. However, donations will still be accepted later.

Food donations to fill the theatre can be dropped off at AIO on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; Wednesday, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m.; and Thursday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There are 350 seats. Each seat holds one 10-pound bag. If 3,500 pounds of food are collected, AIO can still “Fill The Strand.” Every $25 seat sponsorship reduces the food weight goal, and seat sponsorships can be made online at aiofoodpantry.org/strand.
