ROCKLAND — A panel of educators and business owners will meet on the evening of Jan. 17 at the Mid-Coast School of Technology (MCST) to discuss how hands-on/minds-on, technical learning can transform schools and strengthen local economies.

Business owners will discuss the challenges they’re facing finding skilled workers as well as possible solutions. Educators will talk about the power of expanding access to Career & Technical Education (CTE) to all students, PreK-12th grade, as a way to strengthen schools, workforce and local economies. The panel will consider how the CTE/Makerspace Building Project (a partnership between St. George MSU and MCST) can provide a model for increasing access to CTE and promoting rural economic development. More information on the CTE/Makerspace Building Project can be found at stgeorgemsu.org/page/cte-makerspace-building.

The panel will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at 6 p.m. Those interested can attend in-person at MCST or join virtually via Zoom.
