ASHLAND — Linda D. Casey, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Dec. 25, 2022.

Born in August of 1944, she was the daughter of Ralph B. Tyler and Jeannette (Robishaw) Tyler. Linda was raised in South Thomaston and educated locally.

In 1962, Linda married Victor Casey; together they had four children. Linda had many careers over the years, most notably for her compassion as a caregiver. She was an avid gardener, and her flower gardens were something to behold. She taught herself to knit and crochet. Meticulous in her work, she once unraveled a month’s worth of stitches because she found one stitch that wasn’t just right. Linda was always quick of wit; her children will always remember her backhanded answers or comments to their questions. The absolute favorite was “check’s in the mail.” That was from her heart.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Jeannette, and her grandparents, aunts and uncles. She always recalled the time she spent with her grandmother Ermine Tyler with great fondness.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Victor Casey; her stepmother Anne Tyler; her children and their spouses Angella (Butch) Hannan, Roger (Teri) Casey, Melanie Savage and Shana (Paul) Winchenbaugh Jr.; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and twelve brothers and sisters and their families.

A remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal shelter.
