ROCKLAND — The Oceanside girls basketball team will do more than try to keep its multiple-year high school court win streak intact on Friday, Jan. 20 at home against rival Medomak Valley. The Mariners also will be doing their part to bring awareness to a worthy cause.

The Mariners will host the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. in a “pink game,” as part of the night’s breast cancer awareness fundraiser.

Pink attire is encouraged, as KDK screen printing and embroidery in Thomaston will make shirts specifically for the game.

T-shirts are $20, long-sleeved shirts $25 and hooded sweatshirts $35. $10 from each shirt sold will go to the school’s fundraiser. Trina Johnson, co-owner of KDK, is a cancer survivor.

The deadline to order shirts — to have them available for Friday’s game — originally was Thursday, Jan. 12 — but has been extended to Sunday, Jan. 15.
