ROCKLAND — Dianne Lee (Guptill) Linscott passed away Dec. 10, 2022, at the Sussman House with her loving husband and children by her side. She was a bright light until dementia took that light away.

Dianne was born Aug. 19, 1946, in Owls Head to Robert Guptill and Doris Vinal Guptill. She graduated from Georges Valley High School in 1964. In August of 1969 she married Ronald Linscott. Together they raised their three children, Rob, Ronnie and Becky. After the kids were gone, they spent some time in Boca Grande and Myrtle Beach but always found their way back to the coast of Maine to be close to the family that Dianne loved and cherished deeply.

Dianne was a social butterfly and a bright light. No matter where she went, she lit up the room. She knew everyone and everyone knew her. She had a laugh that was infectious. She was a long-time member of AA and very proud of her sobriety. She made many friends along the way, especially Carol Butler and Debbie Murray, who were very fond of Di.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband Ronald, of 53 years, along with her son Rob (Sheena), Ron Jr. (Hollie), and daughter Becky (partner Anthony). She also leaves behind her special aunt Cora Bergren; grandchildren Nick, Danielle, Megan, Derek, Kevin and Riley; great-grandchildren Ella, Everett, Addison, Luca and Nolan; and special friends Nathalie Witham and Brenda Miller, whom she had known since childhood, and many other friends, too numerous to mention. Dianne was predeceased by her parents Robert and Doris Guptill; grandson Ethan; and a special cousin Judy, as well as her uncle Don Bergen and Tink Bergren.

The family would like to send a loving thank you to Lisa Pendleton, a special cousin of Dianne’s who spent many hours caring for her.

At the request of the deceased, a funeral service will not be held. Cremation will be with Riposta in Belfast.

The children will hold a celebration of life at a later date to be decided.
