As part of Camden Rockport Middle School’s Kindness Month, Saturday, Dec. 10 students sorted medical supplies at the Partners for World Health Camden warehouse. The supplies and equipment are surplus, donated by local hospitals and health care facilities. Once fully processed the supplies will be sent to countries in need, such as Ukraine, Bangladesh, and Senegal. Partners also helps local citizens and groups.

Each student got a chance to weigh and log donations; sort items into more than 100 categories, from syringes to surgical equipment; box up similar items; stack boxes on pallets; wrap the pallets and learn to use a pallet jack. Pallets are ready to go to the Partners for World Health headquarters in Portland.

Also, the students delivered to Partners a large number of Beanie Babies that had been collected at the school. This was a student council-sponsored project. The stuffed animals will be taken on medical missions and distributed to children by Partners for World Health volunteers.
