The final countdown to Christmas is on, yet there are still so many displaced pets at Pope Memorial Humane Society who only wish to share that special morning with a new family. We have dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Young, adult or young-at-heart. Cuddly, frisky, slightly shy, goofy, aloof. Couch potatoes, jogging buddies, laser pointer athletes and veggie lovers. All deserving of a soft place to land. Your house truly becomes a home when you share it with a pet and the unconditional love they give you is second to none. Stop in and we will be happy to help match you with your newest buddy.

Perhaps McCafe could be your match. Aptly named as he has the energy of an overcaffeinated teenager, McCafe is a young cat of one and a half years. He came to us with a serious burn on his back, which has since healed, but will always be bare. This kitty loves to play, and the rougher the better. If your house is looking for a spark of life, McCafe would be happy to oblige.

Are you feeling that your home is a little empty? Treasure could literally fill both the space in your heart and your house. Treasure is a gorgeous Mastiff-mix boy of eighteen months. He would love to have a place with room to run and play and is working hard on refining his leash manners. This big boy has a wonderfully goofy side and doesn’t mind sharing it. Lately he’s been telling everyone his dad is Hooch.

There is still time to get one of these deserving pets home for the holidays. Visit our website: and submit an application for approval. Then come on in and let us help you find your new family member. If you would like information on a particular pet, give us a call at: (207) 594-2200.

Happy Holidays and thank you for your support throughout the year!
