Knox County saw one additional COVID-19 case during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday, Dec. 2.
Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 7,719 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 117 have been admitted to hospitals, and 49 have died.
Statewide, an additional 179 cases were reported during the past day. There was one additional death reported statewide Dec. 2, increasing the number to 2,724.
The CDC reports 113 Mainers currently in the hospital with the virus. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 113 hospitalized, 15 are in critical care units and two on a ventilator. Thirty-six critical care beds are available in Maine.
