ROCKPORT — Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St., announces a new “Songwriting and Song-Sharing Group” for tweens and teens. The group will meet Wednesdays, Dec. 14 and Jan. 4, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and will be facilitated by board-certified music therapist Dan Wenger.
Young adults of all abilities and backgrounds are invited to join this free class. No previous songwriting experience is needed. Wenger will lead a discussion among participants about which songs people love and what makes them so appealing. He will help students explore beat-making and how to begin the process of writing original songs.
To sign up, contact Youth Services Librarian Stephanie Miller at 207-236-3642 or smiller@rockportmaine.gov.
