Rockport Librarian Leads Story Walk at Erickson Fields Preserve

Families are invited to join Rockport Public Library’s Youth Services Librarian Stephanie Miller Thursday, Dec. 1 At 10:30 a.m. for a story walk through Erickson Fields Preserve. Miller will be reading aloud from the book, “Owl Moon,” by Jane Yolen. The book tells the story of a young girl and her father who go “owling” late on a winter night. This free program is presented by the Rockport Public Library and Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Erickson Fields Preserve is located at 164 West St. in Rockport.

Rockport Public Library Book Sale

The Rockport Public Library will host a book sale Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. just in time for holiday gift-giving. The Rockport Room on the library’s lower level will be filled with gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and puzzles. Volunteers from the Friends of the Rockport Public Library will keep book tables stocked full of fiction, nonfiction, mystery, Maine-themed, exciting specials, and more. Annual Friends members will receive 10% off purchases. Only cash or checks will be accepted, and masks are optional. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit the Rockport Public Library. MoJO Holiday Concert

Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra (MoJO) performs at John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John St., Camden. The 18-piece big band plays a mix of modern and traditional jazz and holiday favorites. Listen, dance, and sing along! All ages welcome, donations requested.

Holiday Family Movie Series at the Rockport Opera House: “ELF”

Celebrate Christmas By The Sea Saturday, Dec. 3 at 4 pm, with a family festive screening of the 2003 Christmas comedy, “ELF,” starring Will Ferrell as a human raised by Santa’s elves. Toys for Tots Bike Raffle

Toys for Tots Knox County will hold a bike raffle for one 20-inch boy’s bike and helmet, and one 20-inch girl’s bike with helmet. Tickets are $1 each. The drawing will be held on Dec. 11, 2022. New hours for Community Breakfast

The Camden Community Breakfast hosted by Chestnut St. Baptist Church in Camden announces new hours. The breakfast will be served from 7 to 9 a.m. every Monday morning. All are welcome.

Art & Journaling at Camden Public Library

Yoga in the Amphitheatre at Camden Public Library

Instructor Anna Dembska will lead tai chi classes for all levels Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from noon to 1 p.m., by donation. Weekly Parenting Support Group

Parenting and raising a child/youth is often challenging, however even more so with a child with an emotional or behavioral health concern. GEAR Parent Network offers a virtual support group Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m., for parents and child caregivers, who can chat with other parents who share similar life experiences.
