ROCKPORT — Bay Chamber Concerts presents its holiday show with Pastor Chantel Wright and Songs of Solomon Gospel Choir Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St. The concert features the dynamic and ebullient gospel choir Songs of Solomon, returning to Rockport after two sold out concerts in 2014 and 2016. Audiences are invited to usher in the holiday season with this inspiring, charismatic and highly energized group of young singers and many chances to sing along.
Founded in 2001 by veteran conductor Chantel Wright, Harlem-based Songs of Solomon performs inspirational music that celebrates young people of diverse backgrounds. The acclaimed choir performs varied repertoire including gospel, spirituals, anthems and classical choral music. The group has performed with notable artists including Ashford and Simpson, Elton John and American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Barrino and Ruben Studdard.
Bay Chamber is committed to making live performance accessible to a broad audience by offering a tiered ticketing system. Tickets are $35 for adults age 35 and older, $20 for adults ages 22 to 34 and Pay-What-You-Wish for those age 21 and younger.
