SEARSPORT — Jacqueline A. Jackson of East Hampton, Conn., passed away Oct. 30, 2022, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Conn.
She was born in Bangor May 11, 1933, the daughter of Warren (Skipper) Jackson and Arlene Golden. Jackie grew up in Searsport, raised by her grandparents, Clifford and Winifred Jackson.
After graduating from Searsport High School in 1951, she continued her education at Farmington State Teacher’s College. She graduated with a teaching degree and taught in Hodgdon for a few years.
Seeking a career change, she moved to East Hampton, where she began working for the state of Connecticut in the Department of Social Services. She retired as a supervisor after 39 years of service.
Surviving are her five cousins, Hazel Pendleton, Charlene Read and Edwin (Bing) Greenlaw, all of Belfast; Judith Choate of Wellsville, N.Y.; and Patricia Clark of Searsport, along with their families. Also, special, longtime childhood friend Jackie Knowles of Dexter, dear fiends Sharon and Jeff Gilbert and family, as well as many friends in the East Hampton area.
Jackie elected to have no funeral. A memorial service will be held in East Hampton and a private committal will be held at Gordon Cemetery in Searsport at a later date.
