ST. GEORGE/THOMASTON — The Midcoast Community Band, led by Jo Anne Parker, celebrates the season with two holiday band concerts in December.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m., the band plays at the St. George Odd Fellows Hall, 7 Elementary School Road.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m., concert-goers can enjoy the group at Thomaston Baptist Church, 212 Main St.

The Midcoast Community Band has been performing in the Midcoast area for more than 30 years with Jo Anne Parker as leader/conductor. The band plays at civic events, in parades, and at concerts throughout the year. The beloved holiday concerts feature traditional Christmas arrangements, seasonal band music and the ever-popular Carol Sing-Along, accompanied by the full band. The concert is suitable for all ages.

Both the Odd Fellows Hall and the Thomaston Baptist Church are beautiful traditional spaces in which to experience a band concert, with wonderful acoustics.

The concerts are free of charge. Donations are welcome, especially for the band’s flatbed repair fund.
