KINGFIELD — James Edward Secotte passed away Nov. 5 peacefully at his home in Kingfield.

James was born Nov. 2, 1941, son of Edward and Blanch Secotte, and grew up in Camden. He served in the Navy and loved to travel.

James will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and kindness to others. Most recently, before his illness, he would make baked goods and deliver them to nursing homes. Jim could go anywhere and make friends, and he had many.

James was predeceased by his parents Blanch and Edward Secotte; his sister Elaine of Florida; his brother Lisle and wife Faye Secotte of Lincolnville; nephew Stacy Secotte; and his niece Stella. James is survived by two sons, Bradley and Kurt Secotte of Ohio; brother Michael Secotte and his wife Sharon of Cushing; Edward Secotte and Eva Roberts of North Carolina; Sonja Bridges of Wyoming; a special nephew Stuart Secotte and his wife Karen of Lincolnville; cousin Rodney Lynch of Rockland; several grandchildren; and his good friend Tom McCarthy of Kingfield.

A service will be held at the VA Memorial Cemetery in Augusta on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m.
