WARREN — Thurlow Irving Poland, aka “Tippy,” age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 2, 2022. Tippy was born on Dec. 1, 1958, in Damariscotta, to Lestyn Poland Sr. and Jessie (Lailer) Poland Eaton. He grew up and attended school in Warren and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1977. He always loved fishing and was a good handyman and carpenter, and a bit of a jack of all trades.

Tippy was predeceased by both of his parents, as well as a niece, Stefani Sukeforth. He is survived by his children, Luke (Amanda) Poland, Lisa Prior (Joe) and Victor Peters; and his grandchildren, Blane and Dylan Poland, Owen and Autumn Carballo and Sophia Peters. He is also survived by his siblings Rick Poland, Dottie King, Julie (Kerry) Collins, Pete (Sandra) Poland, Calvin Lailer, Melody (Rick) Berry, Brian Poland (Kim), Melissa (Jim) Sukeforth and Michelle Eaton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tip’s family would like to send a special thank you to his dear friend Crystal who has been there for him and helped to take care of him during the last few years.

Sadly, his choices over the years took him away from his family, however we all have fond memories of earlier happier times in our lives which we will reflect on and cherish.

Addiction is a special kind of hell; it takes the soul of the addict and breaks the hearts of everyone who loves them.

His family will hold a private remembrance of his life.
