OWLS HEAD — On Thursday, Nov. 10, Ash Point Community School held a Veterans Day Assembly to give thanks and show our appreciation to all veterans. It was a wonderful assembly where students sang “The Star-Spangled Banner,” read poetry, displayed artwork, and presented American flags to veterans in the audience. Students also demonstrated their learning about the United States Constitution and flag etiquette. This included the folding of the American flag, which was then presented to WWII veteran Master Sergeant Cecil James Clark, who just turned 100 on Oct. 31. The assembly concluded with students from pre-k to grade four singing “My Country Tis of Thee,” which was accompanied by the fifth grade band. Special thanks to all the staff and students of Ash Point Community School as well as  the community. This was a heartwarming assembly with many special moments that will be remembered.
