ROCKLAND — Three-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin will take the Strand Theatre stage Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Colvin won her first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album with her debut album “Steady On,” then in 1998 won both Record and Song of the Year for “Sunny Came Home.” She has been a mainstay of the singer-songwriter genre ever since, releasing 13 superlative albums and establishing herself as one of America’s most revered live performers. Her songs are slow-release works of craft and catharsis that become treasured, lifetime companions for their listeners.

Colvin was recognized for her career accomplishments when she was honored with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Trailblazer Award by the Americana Music Association, and in 2019 was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. In Sept. 2019, Colvin released her newly-recorded “Steady On 30th Anniversary Acoustic Edition.”

Tickets are $35/advance, $40/day of show. Beer and wine are available at concessions. To buy tickets, or for more information, visit or call (207) 594-0070. The Strand Theatre is located at 345 Main St.
