THOMASTON — The town recreation department will add karate to its community athletic programs.

Taylor’s Karate will host classes in the multipurpose room at the Municipal Building. Larry and Linda Taylor have taught classes up and down the East Coast for more than 50 years.

The program is open to Oceanside-area students in grades four and higher.

Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays for four weeks.

The cost for the eight classes is $40. A second child in a family is $20.

Classes for those in fourth through eighth grades will be 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., while classes for adults (students ages 13 and older) will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Sign-up and payment will take place at the start of the first class on Thursday, Nov. 10.
