BAR HARBOR — The sports staff of The Courier-Gazette, The Camden Herald and The Republican Journal, along with the VillageSoup websites, were honored for their work at the annual Maine Press Association 2022 Better Newspaper Contest on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Event Center.

The team of Holly Vanorse Spicer, Mark Haskell, Zack Miller and Ken Waltz brought home 17 awards for their writing, photography, videography and page design, as well as outdoor writing.

Haskell — Second, sports profile, coach Matt Breen leads Oceanside girls basketball team to state championship after return from serious health scare.
