New hours for Community Breakfast

The Camden Community Breakfast hosted by Chestnut St. Baptist Church in Camden announces new hours beginning Monday Oct 31, Halloween. The breakfast will be served from 7 to 9 a.m. every Monday morning. All are welcome.

Magic the Gathering

Rockport Public Library invites students ages 11-15 to its Magic the Gathering monthly program, Saturday, Nov. 5 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Local business Coastal Cards will teach visitors about the game, and students can freely play with assistance, if needed. The workshop will meet in the Rockport Room at Rockport Public Library.

Hope Library Craft Sale

Homemade goodies from Hope cooks along with locally made craft items will be available for sale Tuesday, Nov. 8 starting at 9 a.m. at the Hope Library, in the Hope Town Office building, 441 Camden Road. Raffle tickets for a “Basket of Hope” ($1 each, 6 for $5) will also be available. The lucky winner, drawn at the end of the day, will receive a basket containing over 25 locally crafted items contributed by Hope businesses.  To see a picture of the basket or for more information, check out the Hope Historical Society Facebook page. Knox County Retired Educators

Knox County Retired Educators will be having their lunch/business meeting at the Offshore Restaurant on Route 1 in Rockport Wednesday, Nov. 9. We will start to gather at 11:30 and order lunches by noon. After our meeting there will be a presentation by a veteran in honor of Veteran’s Day. For more information, call 594-4397.

Managing Chronic Back Pain at the Rockport Public Library

The Rockport Public Library will host a presentation by physical therapists Dr. Kathryn Snow and Christina Kelly Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. on Care and Management of Chronic Lower Back Pain. The discussion will cover the basic anatomy of the lumbar spine and pelvis; the supporting musculature and nerves; and common diagnoses and symptoms. The program will be in person in the Rockport Library’s Community Room. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. Tween Comics Workshop

Rockport Public Library invites students to Tween Comics Workshop Wednesdays, Nov. 9, 16, and 30, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the teen room. Students will learn how to design and create a three-to-four-page comic. This workshop runs four weeks, three in-person sessions and one week of independent work on the project during the Thanksgiving school break. This workshop has limited space, enough for eight students. Contact Youth Services librarian, Stephanie, to sign up Ideal for ages 11-15. All supplies will be provided by the library.

Airbnb Hosting

To learn about the process of becoming an Airbnb host, sign up for “Airbnb, How to Open and Run One Well” with Five Town CSD Adult Ed. This one-night Zoom class will be Thursday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with Deb Arter. Arter has been hosting an Airbnb in Damariscotta for five years and teaching how to do it for three years. Her class includes a large packet of handouts on everything from regulations and insurance to dealing with good and bad guests. Mid-Coast Audubon Bird Seed Sale Fundraiser

Mid-Coast Audubon will be accepting bird seed orders through Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. to raise funds to support bird conservation and educational programming. Orders can be placed through the website, or by mail-in form, both available at midcoast.maineaudubon.org/event/fall-bird-seed-sale/. Seed must be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at one of two locations: Plants Unlimited, 629 Commercial St. (Route 1) in Rockport, or Lincoln County Publishing, 116 Mills Road, Newcastle. Specify the location on the order form. Check should be payable to Mid-Coast Audubon, and mail to Seed Sale Sue, 12 Audubon Road, Bremen, ME 04551. Yoga in the Amphitheatre at Camden Public Library

Instructor Anna Dembska will lead tai chi classes for all levels Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from noon to 1 p.m., by donation.
