ROCKLAND — Ada’s Kitchen will host a “Happy Hour for democracy” in downtown Rockland on Monday evening, Oct. 24 from 5-7 p.m. All the local Knox County candidates (Senate District 12, and House Districts 41, 42, 43, and 44) have been invited. Town clerks will be present to meet voters and help fill out registration forms.

Some local elections are won or lost by a very few votes, but Maine enjoys very open and transparent election laws, including your right to register and vote right up until the day of the election on Nov. 8. Voters can even get an absentee ballot as late as Nov. 3, and early voting has already begun. However, some voters are unfamiliar with this election’s candidates or the voting process.

The event will feature extensive information about the voting process itself to answer any questions, and gives the chance to meet candidates in an informal, relaxed atmosphere.
