Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital have introduced two new providers to their teams.

Dr. Alexander Abud

Dr. Alexander Abud joins Pen Bay Neurology as a specialist in multiple sclerosis and will be able care for Knox and Waldo County patients close to home. Abud completed his fellowship in neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis at Brown University, where he also completed his residency. Dr. Marjorie Zyirek-Bacon joins Palliative Care Teams for Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital. Zyirek-Bacon received her Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed her residency in internal medicine at UMass Medical Center, where she then served as chief medical resident. She then completed a fellowship in cardiology at UMass Medical Center. After her cardiology practice, she completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Maine Medical Center. Zyirek-Bacon also served as assistant professor of medicine at UMass Medical School and at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.
