Pen Bay Medical Center is offering weekly drive-thru flu clinics through the end of October. The clinics, which are open to adults aged 18 and older, will offer the flu shot in both the standard dose and the high dose often favored by seniors.

The drive-thru clinics at PBMC will be held at 409 Old County Road in Rockland Wednesday, Oct. 19, and Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The drive-thru flu clinics have been designed to be user friendly, and no appointments are necessary. Those seeking a flu shot need only follow the signs at the location of their choice. These will lead to a drive-thru designated by traffic cones where clinical staff wearing personal protective equipment will greet them and administer the flu vaccine.

Most insurances are accepted, and those with insurance should be sure to bring both their insurance card and a photo ID. Some insurance plans only cover vaccines given by your doctor or at a limited set of locations, so consider checking with your insurance company first.

Those without insurance will be billed an amount to be determined once the final cost of the vaccine is known later this month.
