MERIDEN, Conn. — Michael G. Theriault, born Oct. 20, 1977, passed away at the age of 44 on Oct. 7, 2022, at Midstate Hospital in Meriden, Conn., after a short illness.

Michael graduated from Belfast Area High School in Maine where he was an accomplished wrestler on the varsity team.

Michael was a great chef, and he enjoyed cooking extravagant meals for friends and family. Fishing and camping were a great passion that he shared with the love of his life, Rachel Grenier, and his son Gavin. He also loved and cared for his many pets. Michael was always smiling, and people enjoyed his contagious laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his pets, Baby Boy Elmer and Archie.

Michael was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ann and Joseph Flanagan of Old Saybrook, Conn., and his paternal grandparents, Luella Theriault of Camden and Claude Theriault of Vermont.

Michael is survived by his son Gavin Theriault of Clinton, Conn.; his fiancée Rachel Grenier of Meriden, Conn.; his mother Mary Ellen Theriault of Searsmont; his father Glenn Theriault of Camden; his sister Heather Ritter (Jamie) of Northport; and his brother Kevin Theriault (Heather) of Clinton, Conn. He is also survived by nieces Anna Baiungo, Lily and Luella Theriault and nephew James Ritter. He is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Michael’s life will take place in the spring, the date to be decided.
