A statement by Hirsch in this article, “The people who are bothered by noise should have been smart enough not to move next to the airport or under runway approaches,” is very offensive. I wish he would research who the residents are and how long some of them have lived there before making such statements. Research the history of the airport back to when they relocated families to Ash Point/Crocketts Beach in order to have the land they are currently on now. If he had any knowledge, he would also see that those families still live in those locations today.

I was born in the house I now live in 64 years ago, and so were my siblings, which extends that to approximately 70 years ago. He can tell me I am not smart enough to live where I am, but some of us have great memories in these locations way before the airport turned into what it is today.
