POLAND — In the midst of a two-game skid, the Medomak Valley football team found the cure for what ailed it on Friday night, Oct. 7 in a road game.

The Panthers (4-2) kept the ball on the ground against the Knights, kept the clock running and kept the hosts off the scoreboard in 20-0 high school gridiron shutout victory.

Hayden Staples led the Panther offense as he found the end zone three times for the visitors, amassing 125 yards on 20 carries, while Aaron Reed (12 carries for 69 yards), Chase Peaslee (5 carries for 15 yards), Jaiden Starr (16-yard run), Gatlin Bedenik (23-yard run), Porter Gahagan (2 carries for 7 yards) and Devon Secotte (2 carries for 6 yards) also contributed on the ground for Medomak Valley.

Wyatt Simmons also had a 23-yard pass to Bedenik, while Starr booted a pair of extra points in the winning effort.

The Panther defense was paced by Bedenik (3 solo tackles, assisted tackle), Isaac Simmons (2 solos), Tucker Holgerson (2 solos, assist, fumble recovery), Kaden Wright (3 solos, assist), Marshall Addy (4 solos), Ethan Wood (3 solos, assist), Reed (3 solos, assist), Staples (4 solos, assist), Starr (solo), Peaslee (solo) Gahagan (3 solos, fumble recovery), Gabe Lash (solos) and Secotte (solo).
