CAMDEN — After an almost three-year hiatus, Midcoast Community Chorus is returning to in-person rehearsals beginning Monday, Oct. 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 55 Elm St. The first two weeks will be an open house for singers to meet and see what is planned for this semester. Registration in the amount of $80 will begin Monday, Oct. 31.

In addition, MCC is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Maynard to the role of artistic director. Maynard has more than 30 years of experience as a musical educator, singer and conductor. He was the artistic director and conductor of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and holds Masters degrees in both music and education. He is currently a music education teacher in the Rockport/Camden Middle School.

MCC is also pleased to announce the return of Joani Mitchell as assistant director. Mitchell has more than 40 years of experience as an educator, voice and piano instructor, musician, musical theater director and songwriter/arranger.
