ROCKLAND — On Sept. 11, the Rockland Elks saluted the victims and survivors of 9/11. Exalted Ruler Pam Heal led her officers through the ceremony.

Guest speakers were State Representative Vali Geiger, with a history of the events of 9/11, and firefighter Carl Anderson with a history from a firefighter’s perspective. Leading Knight Helen Rogers read a poem, and Trenna Bragg read “the Fireman’s Prayer.”

The Lodge Chaplain Freida Carpenter gave an invocation at the ceremony.

Special guests were Rockland Police Officer Ann and Sergeant Dan. Rockland Fire and EMS were represented by Lt. Mike and firefighters Joe, Carl and Elliot.

The Chaplain led the gathering in “God Bless America.” Exalted Ruler Pam closed out the ceremony.
All were invited to light-fare luncheon.
