ROCKLAND — Donna Marie (Knutson) Berry, 85, died in her sleep Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, at Knox Center in Rockland, Maine.

She was born April 15, 1937 in Cook, Minnesota to Clarence and Florence (Johnson) Knutson, the youngest of three children. She was a member of the class of 1955 of Cook High School. She went on to earn a BS at University of Minnesota. She taught music and piano at schools in Wisconsin, Connecticut, Florida, Virginia, and Rockland, Maine.  She then became office manager at North End Marine before retirement.

She married Arthur Berry in 1967 and soon thereafter they built a trimaran on which they lived and sailed from Maine to Florida with stops in between including the Bahamas. After three years of this nomadic life they came to Maine and built their house in Union, Maine.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Vertin and Richard; and her husband Arthur.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Knutson of Grants Pass, Oregon; brother-in-law John English of England, Arthur’s three children, Chris, Debra and Alison, in England; two nieces, Patti and Lori; and a nephew, Larry.

At her wishes, no services will be held and her ashes will be sent to England to be with Arthur.  Donations in her memory may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
