SOUTH THOMASTON — A teen was injured Friday evening in a head-on crash in South Thomaston.
On Sept. 16 at 7:16 p.m., Knox County Regional Communications received a report of a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Elm Street. A silver Chevy Impala, operated by a 17-year-old from South Thomaston, was traveling north and crossed the center-line striking a silver Nissan Altima, operated by Nicholas Prentiss, 23, of Thomaston, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
The teen was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for minor injuries, and Prentiss reported no injuries. Both vehicles were towed due to the extent of damages.
The incident is still under investigation but driver inexperience and inattention are suspected as contributing factors in the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
