THOMASTON — American Legion Post 37 will once again open its doors to continue its dine-in or to-go baked bean suppers, and other meals, on Sept. 17. All present Post 37 procedures, as well as all coronavirus state guidelines, will be followed. Meals may not be ready to be served until 5 p.m. However, meals may be ordered ahead of time and then picked up after 5 in sequence of when ordered. Pre-ordered meals will have a priority when they are ready. Pre-orders may also be made by calling Post 37 Vice-Commander William Demmons at (207) 319-3400 or email to reserve a meal.

Each to-go meal will be packed in boxes and placed into a bag for carry out. Patrons can drive/walk to the front of the Legion Hall, order a meal(s) and pay for it. A Legion member will retrieve the order and bring it back to the patron. The meal will be just like the usual baked bean supper, except for the dessert, which will be some sort of cake/brownie. The menu will include baked beans, hot dogs, American chop suey, and more, at $10 each.

Also occurring on Sept. 17 is Post 37’s third annual bottle drive. Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., bring any returnable bottles and donate them to Auxiliary Unit 37. Just drive by and your bottles can be unloaded for you

Proceeds will be used to support the Veterans Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program.
