Knox County saw nine additional COVID-19 cases since Saturday, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday, Sept. 13.

And another Knox County has died with the virus, the CDC reported Sept. 13. And another Knox County resident was admitted to a hospital with the virus. This is the fifth person being admitted to a hospital from Knox County with the virus in a week.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 7,315 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 108 have been admitted to hospitals, and 44 have died.

Statewide, an additional 425 cases were reported since Saturday. There were 10 additional deaths reported statewide Sept. 13, increasing the number to 2,561.

There were 14 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 since Saturday, with the number at 5,685 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 175 Mainers currently in the hospital with the virus, up from 155 two weeks ago and the most hospitalized in Maine since June 2. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 175 hospitalized, 18 are in critical care units and three on ventilators. Sixty-six critical care beds are available in Maine.
