ROCKLAND — On Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m., Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St., holds a Banned Book Week event to discuss “Maus, A Survivor’s Tale” by Art Spiegelman.
Winner of the 1992 Pulitzer Prize, “Maus” is the true story of author Art Spiegelman’s dad, Vladek, a Holocaust survivor, as well as of his own relationship with his tortured father. Told in graphic novel format, this book continues to captivate and illuminate, as well as remain controversial, and is often challenged as required reading. Join librarian Jessie Blanchard in a discussion of this important work.
Email jblanchard@rocklandmaine.gov or call 207-594-0310 to register and borrow a copy of the book.
