A heartfelt thank you to everyone in Rockport who participated in Tuesday’s election. So many of you worked hard in the months and weeks leading up to the election. Our local newspapers did a great job of airing the issues among the candidates and creating room for back and forth among our residents.

Many of you visited and talked with friends, neighbors, and other community members about the election. I spent a lot of time knocking on doors throughout Rockport and enjoyed meeting and talking with so many of you — we truly have an engaged and thoughtful citizenry in our small town. The unprecedented turnout for a single-issue ballot and unexpected election timing tells the story in a way we can all be proud of.

I am grateful and humbled by the election results. As I promised during the election and did during my prior three years on the Select Board, I will continue working hard for all of Rockport, listening to you, working with my fellow Select Board members and our dedicated town employees to find the best solutions for the issues that Rockport faces. We have amazing people in Rockport.

Our history is rich and deep. Together we can listen to each other, know that each of us wants the best for our small town, and value our diversity of ideas to make our future bright. I look forward to working for all of you!

Thank you,
Denise Munger
