ROCKLAND — A former garage has been bought by a Rockland man who wants to open a take-out pizza shop.

The plan, however, will require a review by the Rockland Planning Board which will consider whether there is adequate parking for such a business.

Aphiwat Ruklittikul purchased 59 Camden St. on Aug. 29 from Rockland Plaza LLC and its principal Mark Patel of Biddeford. The property has sat vacant for the past 15 years but had previously been the longtime Harry French garage.

The city took the property in 2016 when Rockland Plaza did not pay its sewer fees but returned it to the company in 2021.

The building, built around 1928, sits on slightly less than a fifth of an acre. The purchase price was $170,000.
