WALDOBORO — The Midcoast Sports Hall of Fame will recognize three “Outstanding Teams” at its annual banquet on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Rockland Elks Lodge.

One team is the 1970 Medomak Valley High School state Class B baseball champions coached by Bob Green and assisted by Lou Cook. The Panthers record was 21 wins and four losses.

Also being recognized are the 2001 and 2002 Boothbay Region High School Seahawk football teams. Those squads won back-to-back state Class C championships.

The 2001 team had a 10-2 record, while the 2002 squad was undefeated at 12-0. The head coach was Tim Rice, with assistants J.R. Garret, Ted Brown, Matt Rice, Chris Norton and Jack Tourtillotte.

The MSHOF also will honor its eight inductees for the Class of 2022 and standout student-athletes from Knox and Lincoln counties.
