ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills soccer teams, which annually make significant league, regional and state championship pitches, used a beautiful late-summer morning and afternoon to hone their skills for quickly-approaching, regular-season play.

The Windjammers hosted the always-talented Yarmouth Clippers on Saturday, Aug. 20 in a pair of preseason high school soccer encounters on Don Palmer Field.

The Windjammer girls secured a 5-2 victory.

In the girls encounter, for Camden Hills, Britta Denny tallied two goals and Brenna Mackey added an assist. Additionally, Rose Tohanczyn scored off a corner kick and Sydney Stone converted a direct kick. Leah Snyder also scored unassisted.

The host boys also won 2-1, as Cam Brown and Jasper Hackett netted goals. Jordan Peasley assist added an assist. In the jayvee game, the Windjammers also prevailed 2-0, on goals from Max Pierce and Jasper Hackett.

In 2021, the Camden Hills boys reached the Class A North final, while the Windjammers girls, who earned four state titles in recent years, fell during regional postseason play.
