FRIENDSHIP — Salt Pond Studio, 522 Cushing Road, exhibits the exquisite woodturnings of Stephen Tofield Aug. 24 through Sept. 5. Join the artist for an opening reception Saturday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. with live music on the Salt Pond Stage and refreshments by the firepit.

This transformative installation by the Union artist features gorgeous sculptural forms breaching the gap between form and function. Tofield’s creations are augmented by sgrafitto porcelain works and paintings by Friendship artist and gallery owner Pam Cabañas. Salt Pond Studio will donate 10% of proceeds to the Friendship/Cushing Food Bank.

Salt Pond Studio is located in the renovated pre-civil war schoolhouse at the corner of Salt Pond Road and Route 97. Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Visit saltpondstudio.com for more information.
