WALDOBORO — Christopher Lascoutx, known as Kit to his friends and family, passed away on June 24, 2022. He was riding his motorcycle, one of his favorite pastimes.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts, on Jan. 8, 1944, Kit was raised in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and attended St. Mark’s School, Harvard University, and USC Berkeley. After two years as a medic in Vietnam, he settled in New York and earned degrees in architecture and education at City College. In 2010, he moved to Washington, Maine, retiring from a career as a teacher and principal in the New York City school system. In Washington, he worked as the emergency management director and later as the town constable.
Kit was a well-traveled and fascinating person with wide-ranging interests and a boundless curiosity about people; he made friends effortlessly, always happy to share his experience and knowledge.
He is survived by his daughter Kate and son Adrian, grandson Rowan, wife Ronnie, brother Andres, nephew Andre, an aunt, and three cousins.
Kit will be remembered fondly and much missed by all who knew him.
