Rockport Public Library is celebrating the last week of its Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program. Summer Reading Challenge trackers and Books for Bikes entries are due by Friday, Aug.19. These programs are available for all ages. Youth Summer Reading Program is open to youth ages up to18. Adult Summer Reading Program is available for ages 18 and older.

Instructor and author Mary Cerullo takes participants on a centuries-long quest for the giant squid that weaves myths, whaling captains’ journals, and scientific expeditions. Meet more sea monsters: the Humboldt squid, the rare colossal squid, and aquarium favorite, the Pacific giant octopus.

End-of-Summer Reading Party
Friday, Aug. 19 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The End-of-Summer Reading celebration will include a live brass music performance with Chris Pert in partnership with Midcoast Music Academy, ocean-themed crafts, and raffles for all of our summer reading challenge prizes.
