ROCKLAND — Rockland police are investigating the apparent pistol whipping of one juvenile by another youth.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, a concerned citizen flagged down Rockland officers regarding a juvenile who had been assaulted by another juvenile. Limited information was available but it was reported that the injured juvenile was “pistol-whipped” by the other juvenile in the South End of Rockland, the department stated in a news release.

The juvenile victim suffered serious injuries to the nose and face, and had to be seen by Rockland Emergency Medical Services.

“At this point it is unknown if the firearm involved was real or a BB gun. The juvenile victim is thus far uncooperative with the investigation,” the department stated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Anne Griffith at AGRIFFITH@ROCKLANDMAINE.GOV or at 207-594-0316, extension 232.
