ROCKLAND — The Maine Lobster Festival held the “Big Parade” on Main Street in Rockland Saturday morning, Aug. 6, for the first time since 2019.
The parade theme is “We Are All Champions.” Festival President Celia Knight said this theme was selected because everyone was a winner to have the festival return this year.
The event this year featured numerous entertainments, colorful floats, fire engines, law enforcement vehicles, military and veterans organizations and marching bands. The weather was beautiful and sunny for the event which drew a large crowd downtown.
The 75th Maine Lobster Festival began Wednesday, Aug. 4, at noon, when King Neptune and his court arrived by ship. That night, Olivia Dougherty of Warren was crowned 2022 Maine Sea Goddess.
