Recently, I learned that our town attorney intervened to stop a local venue from renting its space to a community organization. No reason was given for this action by the town, and one has to question what authority the town had to stop the rental, except perhaps that the organization wishing to rent the property was the Save the Dam Committee. who were advocating a plan of action in opposition to the Select Board’s chosen course.

I hesitate to use the term “black balling,” except it seems to fit. I thought the voters of Camden would like to know what is going on in their local government. I hope this was simply a mistake and we will learn why the town attorney behaved so undemocratically.

Thank you,
Jo Ann Simon
