ROCKPORT — Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St., hosts an evening with Kevin Johnson, photo archivist for the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport. He will give a guided tour of Rockport photographs found in the photography archives of the Penobscot Marine Museum and talk about the nautical history of Rockport.

The slide show and talk will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m., and will look at various collections including the Carroll Thayer Berry, the Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Co., and Ed Coffin with a special focus on Rockport. This talk is free, in person, and open to all.

Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University, and after a number of years working as a paralegal, he decided he wanted to shift his focus to fine art photography. He earned his Professional Certificate in Photography from the Maine Photographic Workshops.
