ROCKLAND The 75th Annual Maine Lobster Festival officially opened Wednesday with crowds turning out after a two-year hiatus.

The five-day annual festival that celebrates Rockland connection to the sea has free admission each day following two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 edition of the Festival already saw crowds turn out at Harbor, Buoy, and Mildred Merrill parks.

Fireworks will be on display at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday following the coronation of the 2022 Sea Goddess which runs 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the Main Stage. Another round of fireworks will be Saturday night at 9:30.
