Knox County saw seven additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Saturday, July 30.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,980 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 96 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

Statewide an additional 191 cases were reported during the past day. There were no additional deaths reported statewide July 30, keeping the number at 2,467.

There were tw0 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,336 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 127 Mainers currently in the hospital. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 127 hospitalized, 11 are in critical care units and none on a ventilator. Sixty critical care beds are available in Maine.
