PORT CLYDE — Artist Greg Mort hosts his annual summer open studio titled “A New View of the World” Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment at Fieldstone Castle, 129 Marshall Point Lighthouse Road. He is pleased to join his artist son, Jon Mort, who will also display his new creations welcoming friends and family to share the artistic journey we have traveled and how we go forward together. Jon’s open studio, titled “Past and Forever,” features new work in colored pencil.

The artists offer a talk Saturday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m. This open studio event also marks the release of Jon’s new 2022 Limited Edition Giclee Print Portfolio made available for the first time to the public.

Greg’s art is in museum collections around the world and has been featured in more than 50 exhibitions. His artwork is currently featured at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Mass. and the Seattle Art Fair, and was included in the United Nations Earth Day exhibition in New York City. Showings for 2022 also include Somerville Manning Gallery, MassoniArt Gallery, and in the fall Greg’s special commission painting marking the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the University of Padua, Italy will be part of the European celebration.

Jon’s striking images often contain elements reflecting his personal passions for history and science. He is an avid traveler and influences of his most recent cross county journey are seen in this new collection. Jon’s artwork is widely collected and has been featured in more than 25 gallery and museum exhibitions. Most recently he was the featured artist in a major exhibition at the Somerville Manning Gallery in Greenville, Del. and in a group show at the MassoniArt Gallery in Chestertown, Md.
